The Bachelor of Design Innovation (BDI) will prepare you to work as a designer in an exciting variety of design-based professions. Find out about the areas of design you can major in for your undergraduate degree or study at postgraduate level.
Learn to speak the language of culture: dynamic, current, and visual. As a student in Communication Design, you’ll be bringing a fresh design perspective to surfaces, screens, and spaces.
Work closely with industry award-winning teachers in courses on graphic design, comics, concept art, book design, illustration, motion graphics, storytelling, exhibitions, and typography, including a first-year course in Māori narratives.
You’ll emerge from the programme with a range of visual communication tools and a unique body of work, ready to make the culture of tomorrow.
With the support of my teachers and peers I have established an understanding of the importance of using my voice in my work, the impact that Communication Design has on the world, and the satisfaction of creating images that bring joy to others.
