Course learning objectives

Students who pass this course will be able to:

  1. show broad familiarity with, and understanding of, (South) Korean society, culture, and history, and the contemporary economic and political situation;

  2. analyse critically the nature of social, economic, political and cultural change in Korea in a variety of contexts;

  3. display a deepened understanding of how social issues are reflected in Korean literature, film and music;

  4. show development in their skills in written and/or oral communication.

Class representative

The class representative provides a useful way to communicate feedback to the teaching staff during the course. They also work with the VUWSA Education Office on any academic issues that arise in their course. Reps are elected by students by the third week of classes every trimester. Being a rep requires a weekly commitment.
