Our curriculum, designed by our programme’s award-winning founder, the late Dr Teresia Teaiwa, will enable you to understand the complexity and diversity of our broader region’s past and present, and help shape Pacific futures.

You'll apply a critical perspective to Pasifika cultures, examining the impacts of imperialism and colonialism. Explore the role of New Zealand as a political power and gateway into the Pacific and gain an understanding of Pacific issues.

Develop the skills to share your knowledge and communicate the Pacific perspective with confidence. You’ll also learn at least one Pacific Island language—Sāmoan, Māori, or French.
