  • A Bachelor's degree with Honours

  • To be accepted by the head of the school as capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study

For this programme you'll need to:

  • Complete 120 points

  • Satisfy the subject requirements

Subject requirements

Applications for the 120-point MA in TESOL by thesis (ALIN 592) that meet the subject requirements will only be accepted once (a) a thesis proposal has been approved and (b) a thesis supervisor has been appointed. If either or both of these conditions are not met, the applicant will still be eligible for the MA by coursework or by a combination of course work and a research dissertation (LALS 583) or a 90-point thesis (LALS 584).

For this subject you'll need to:

  • Have previously completed 400- and 500-level courses worth 60 points in an approved area, or have an approved postgraduate qualification

  • Have previously completed at least two years of professional experience in language education or other work involving applied linguistics
