Politics, Philosophy and Economics

I chose Victoria University of Wellington because of the great feedback I heard from other exchange students, as well as the central location of Wellington, which was a great base to travel all around New Zealand.

My WILP experience

I decided to join the Wellington International Leadership Programme as I saw it as the natural extension of my studies in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. The seminars and events that I participated in were really interesting, with my personal highlight being the seminar on global warming.

As part of my experiential activities I attended MAOR123 as I was really interested in learning more about Māori culture. The most memorable moment was attending a powhiri (Māori welcoming ceremony) and getting to know the history of the University Marae.

My favourite seminar was cross-cultural communication; I learned the ways in which cultures have different customs. Discussing and learning to respect and appreciate them was a valuable opportunity, and the seminar was hands on too, making it more fun.
