Academic requirements

To be accepted into this programme you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • To be accepted by the Director of Postgraduate Studies for the Faculty of Law as capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study

  • If you don’t have a Bachelor’s degree, you may still be able to apply to study the GDipLaw if you have suitable professional, practical, or academic experience. Contact the programme director to discuss your options.

Programme requirements

For this programme, you’ll need to:

  • Complete 120 points of approved 200- to 500-level courses from the LLB or LLM schedules

    • At least 75 points must be at 300-level or above

Important information

  • If you have previously achieved a Certificate of Proficiency in up to two relevant courses in the LLB(Hons) or LLM schedules, you may be able to count those courses towards the GDipLaw.
  • The Faculty of Law’s Associate Dean may allow you to substitute up to 30 points from approved courses from other programmes at the University. Contact the programme director to discuss your options.
