Course content
This workshop-based course will allow students to explore science communication theory and practice through the development of a portfolio of science communication projects. Weekly workshops will be used to explore different forms and challenges in science communicaton, test and develop new ideas, and receive feedback on projects as they develop.
Assessment is 100% internally assessed, based on the portfolio submitted at the end of the course, participation in workshops, feedback on other students' work and reflective journals.
This course is optimised for in-person delivery and attendance at weekly workshops is strongly encouraged. Workshops will include in-class exercises, peer feedback and hands-on training in audio-visual mediums - they will be recorded where practical.
If you are unable to attend an in-person component due to exceptional circumstances, you should contact the course coordinator at the first opportunity, explaining your circumstances. Alternative arrangements may be possible.
