Professor Siah Hwee ANG
Biography
Professor Siah Hwee Ang is the inaugural BNZ Chair in Business in Asia, a position sponsored by Bank of New Zealand, Victoria University of Wellington, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. In this role, Siah works closely with various stakeholders and companies on their strategies in Asia and Asia’s engagement in NZ. Before joining Victoria University of Wellington, he has worked at the University of Auckland, City University in London and National University of Singapore, where he completed his PhD in Management. Siah is Visiting Professor at Lanzhou University in China and Universiti Malaya in Malaysia. Siah is the Senior Editor of the Journal of World Business, a top international business journal. He writes weekly for both “Understanding China” column at interest.co.nz and the Business column of Fairfax Media, which includes stuff.co.nz, The Dominion Post and The Press. Siah is on the advisory group to the Economic Committee of APEC, and has worked/is currently working with executives from various NZ and international companies.
