Shanghai Social Sciences Association Delegation visits China Centre
A four-people delegation headed by Professor Shen Guoming, executive president of Shanghai Social Sciences Association (SSSA), visited NZCCRC last Friday. Chair of China Centre and Confucius Institute Mr. Tony Brown, acting director of Confucius Institute Mrs. Wen Powles welcomed the delegation and had a discussion with the guests on potential cooperation opportunities between SSSA and NZCCRC.
Prof. Sheng introduced Shanghai’s socio-economic development, especially the newly-established Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone and its implications to China’s deepening economic reform. Prof. Sheng invited Mr. Brown and Mrs. Powles, both were NZ diplomats to China, to visit SSSA in Shanghai to build closer relationship between research institutes of Shanghai and New Zealand.
