Last year, as we welcomed Matariki, the Kāpuhipuhi team took a moment to reflect on what we are grateful for. ⭐ Each week in our Māori capability sessions—where we practice karakia, our mihimihi, and waiata—we draw three stars at random and take a moment to share what our team is grateful for. This simple yet powerful exercise reflects our organisational values and creates space for these values to be seen, felt, and lived. These values—mana, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, arohatanga, tapatahi, mahitahi, and auahatanga—shape who we are, how we work, and the impact we strive to make. 🌟

Earlier this week, the Kāpuhipuhi team came together to celebrate #InternationalWomensDay and acknowledge the incredible wāhine we work with. This year’s theme, Accelerate Action, is a reminder of the ongoing journey toward gender equality - breaking barriers, driving change, and ensuring equal opportunities for all. It’s a chance to reflect, appreciate, and recognise the contributions of women in our workplace and beyond.

March 8 marks International Women’s Day—a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of wāhine while acknowledging that true equality is still a work in progress. This year’s theme, Accelerate Action, is a call to move faster and push harder toward achieving full equality. We asked our Aspire: Women’s Leadership Development Programme facilitators—Karen Waitt, Melanie Beirne and Trish Lui—to share what they wish they could tell their younger self, and why International Women’s Day is important to them. Here's what Melanie had to say—visit our blog to read Karen and Trish's answers > bit.ly/41qhWZm Register for the next Aspire cohort, starting Monday 17 March > bit.ly/41nRdwF #InternationalWomensDay #IWD
