World Wellbeing Panel
The World Wellbeing Panel promotes wellbeing as the ultimate purpose of all major decision makers, particularly government. The panel’s committee, of which Professor Grimes is member, ask an international panel of experts questions of relevance to wellbeing policy. The poll fosters debate about policy in terms of its impacts on wellbeing, which over time should lead to better policies and decisions.

The World Database of Happiness is an archive of research findings on subjective enjoyment of life. It brings together findings that are scattered throughout many studies and provides a basis for synthetic work.

The Living Standards Framework (LSF) represents the New Zealand Treasury’s perspective on what matters for New Zealanders’ wellbeing, now and into the future. The LSF is a flexible framework that prompts thinking about policy impacts across the different dimensions of wellbeing, as well as the long-term and distributional issues and implications.

Indicators Aotearoa New Zealand is being developed by Stats NZ as a source of measures for New Zealand’s wellbeing. The set of indicators will go beyond economic measures, such as gross domestic product (GDP), to include wellbeing and sustainable development.
