Diplomas, Honours and Master's programmes
Selection into Part 1 of Diplomas, Honours and Master's programmes offered by the Wellington Faculty of Science and its schools is based on academic merit, particularly at 300-level.
Master's by thesis and specialist programmes
In general the selection criteria involve:
- academic merit
- relevant experience
- motivation to complete the programme
- In some programmes applicants may also be interviewed.
Appeals against exclusion
These should be made, in writing, to the Associate Dean (Students) of the Wellington Faculty of Science.
Wellington Faculty of Engineering selection criteria

Selection criteria for second year
Entry into the 300- and 400-level courses in Part 2 of the BE (Hons) requires a B average and the completion of all Part 1 courses, including the requirements for at least one specialisation.
Appeals against exclusion
These should be made, in writing, to the Associate Dean (Students) of the Wellington Faculty of Science.
