Serena Carla Easton-Prier

Kia Ora!

I identify as non-binary and bisexual. I use they/them pronouns I am a student at Weltec studying for my degree in Counselling and Addictions. I was born and raised in Aotearoa. I've wanted to start studying counselling since my early teens and now am in my second year of studies out of three. I love the work done by Māori Ora and its team which is why I am doing my placements here.

I care very deeply about providing a variety of counselling techniques to the diverse people in the world. My approach is based around client-centred therapy whilst incorporating the new techniques I learn through my studies such as cognitive behavioural therapy and Motivational interviewing. I'm excited to be getting into the counselling sector and improving my skills.

In my spare time I love to draw, look after my plants and have adventures where I can find quiet spots of nature. (Especially when I find a cat).
