Tega Ogbuigwe is a Doctoral Candidate at the Victoria University of Wellington School of Marketing and International Business. She specializes in foreign investment policies, cross-border acquisitions, and international expansion of emerging market firms. In her doctoral thesis, she re-evaluates the interaction between institutional regulatory systems and governance structures by exploring the concept of ownership hybridization – an analysis of how state and private owned business can be integrated to overcome regulatory barriers in international business.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in International Business Administration with a first class from the United States International University, Nairobi, Kenya and went to obtain a Master of International Business Management from the University of Surrey, with a Distinction.
Prior to commencing her doctoral program, Tega was a Lecturer in one of the biggest state universities in Nigeria, Rivers State University. In this position, she secured research funds and acted as principal investigator in several research projects.
In addition to her academic endeavours, Tega also routinely engages in presentations and discussions about the institutional environment in emerging economies and how it affects the quality of early years education, particularly in Africa. She is involved in several initiatives that empower parents to support their children with learning disabilities.
