Undergraduate study
Our philosophy is to provide students with knowledge and skills in the effective and efficient design, delivery and use of information systems, together with an awareness of the continuing developments in the field of information technology and electronic commerce, and their impact on organisations and society.
Your learning experience will include lectures, workshops, tutorials, and online resources. There is help from our tutors, who will work with you in smaller and more informal groups, giving you the best possible support to achieve your academic goals. The key to your success is in the mix of theory, research and practical experience in our programmes.
As a student at SIM, you will enjoy invitations to industry technical talks and presentations, so that you are totally in touch with developments in the real world. On some courses you have the opportunity to actually work in industry.

Master of Information Studies
The Information Studies Programmes offer broadly-based, technology focused qualifications for information professionals, with content and structure designed to equal the best in North America, the UK, and Australia. The boundaries between librarians, archivists, records managers, and knowledge managers are disappearing, so qualifications in the Information Studies Programmes will give you a core set of skills and knowledge needed across all these professions, while also allowing you to focus on specific professional competencies for your initial career path.
Master of Professional Business Analysis
The Master of Professional Business Analysis (MBusAn) degree is designed for people in disciplines outside information technology who want to become business analysts, most likely in new roles in their original field. Graduates will be able to apply their understanding of their field of expertise to develop IT solutions for a workplace and be able to recommend appropriate solutions, based on sound, evidence-led decision-making skills grounded in fundamental principles of academic research and real-world exposure.

MCom in Information Systems
A Master's level research by thesis degree in Information Systems (INFO 591 Information Systems Thesis) is for graduates who want a fast track into leadership positions as information systems professionals -- as IS consultants, directors or managers, chief information officers, IS policy analysts, consultants in e-Commerce, project managers. It is also appropriate for those wishing to pursue further research in our PhD programme.
