Research interests

Shafiqul is passionate about fostering human-AI collaboration within manufacturing organisations. The global manufacturing industry, representing 12.8% of the world's workforce, is confronted with the potential challenge of replacing millions of jobs worldwide in the future. Consequently, there is a pressing need to utilise AI assistants and foster collaborative efforts on the factory floor. This surge in demand is leading to the rapid development of smart and resilient human-machine partnerships.

Shafiqul's research interests include the collaboration between humans and machines, digitalisation, the issue of women's exclusion from the factory floor, and the profound impact of digital transformation on organisations and society. As Shafiqul explores these areas, he aims to contribute to the evolution of a corresponding and effective collaboration between human workers and AI technologies in the manufacturing organisational landscape.
