Profile
Md Maidul Islam serves as an Associate Professor (currently on study leave) at the Department of Information Science and Library Management at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. He earned both his BA and MA in Information Science and Library Management from the University of Dhaka. Before joining the University of Dhaka, he worked as an Assistant Executive at Eastern University, Bangladesh. He also worked as a part-time faculty member at the Department of Information Science and Library Management at Asian University of Bangladesh and Institute of Library and Information Science (ILIS), Dhaka under National University, Bangladesh. His involvement in teaching and research in various areas ignited a strong desire to pursue a PhD in Information Systems.

Research interests
Maidul’s research interests lie primarily in the areas of the management of library and information services and his main focus is on the management of public libraries, social inclusion, and SDGs. He is also interested in LIS education, digital libraries, knowledge management, knowledge sharing, information literacy, digital literacy, social media, etc.
