Information Experience of Furry Families
Information Experience of Furry Families, an interactive exhibit organised by the School of Information Management, will be on display at Rutherford House from 20-21st April 2023.
Organized by the School of Information Management, this interactive exhibition presents a collection of physical pieces and multimedia work to demonstrate special meanings of information that underpin human-animal every day. These photographic images come from a visual participatory doctoral project conducted by Niloofar Solhjoo at the School of Information Management, Victoria University of Wellington. The project explores a holistic meaning of information in a multispecies relationship. Now with the support of her supervisors, Associate Professor Maja Krtalić, and Professor Anne Goulding, Niloofar has made a creative endeavour to creatively present part of the finding susing an art-based approach.
In this exhibition, we invite GLAMR (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums & Records) sector professionals, Information scholars, and public community to imagine the many ways information plays a role in everyday lives with our furry friends. There will be the researcher talk and the GLAMR Wellington meeting on April 20. Niloofar will give a brief presentation and a guided tour of the exhibition on 20 April at 5:30 pm.
