Katherine Woods

Profile
Katie completed her BSc and MSc in Geophysics at the University of Leeds, UK. Currently, she is undertaking her PhD at Victoria University of Wellington, investigating slow slip events. Using seismology and a combination of land and seafloor geodetic techniques, she will look at the slip behaviour of the Hikurangi subduction zone. On a broader scale, the project contributes to an international effort to understand physical processes at the Hikurangi subduction zone and the effect slow slip events have on earthquake and tsunami potential.
