Description

He Whenua Taurikura National Centre of Research Excellence was established in 2022 in response to recommendation 14 of the Royal Commission of Inquiry report into the terrorist attack on Christchurch masjidain.

He Whenua Taurikura promotes and supports research that contributes to understanding, countering and preventing violent extremism as well as research that contributes to improving social cohesion and community safety in the context of Aotearoa New Zealand. Applications are sought from a broad range of disciplinary and transdisciplinary/multidisciplinay backgrounds. Applications are open to students enrolled in or eligible to enroll in a relevant degree at a New Zealand university or tertiary institute.
