John P Good Memorial Prize
Information
This prize in memory of John P Good, a member of the Class in Pure Mathematics I in 1929, arises from a gift of made by his parents, Mr and Mrs F.W. Good, 1929. The capital fund was increased in 1984 by gifts from his brother, Mr D.E. Good, and the Wellington Mathematical Association.
The prize is awarded annually to the first-year student taking at least 45 points of Mathematics who, in the opinion of the Head of School, has made the best progress during the year.
The value of the prize is determined after consideration of the income from the fund. If a prize is not awarded in any given year, the prize will be returned to the capital fund.
Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks which will be forwarded appropriately. The donor requests the recipient uses the prize money to purchase a book, or books.
