Endangered species
CBRE is at the forefront of research for rescuing and recovering a range of species from around the globe. We’ve embarked on studies of behaviour and ecology, disease, parasites and predators, the impacts of inbreeding on species recovery, and advanced population management techniques and strategies.
Our researchers have revised ecological understanding to substantially improve endangered species management. Members routinely work with and advise colleagues in government and non-government agencies in New Zealand and internationally, including New Zealand’s Department of Conservation, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and World Wide Fund for Nature to develop and improve species conservation strategies.
