Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology
The Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology focuses on the restoration of species, communities and ecosystem functions impacted by human activity.
Launched in 2006, the Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology (CBRE) is a leader in generating new knowledge, strategies and technologies for the better management of biodiversity in urban, farmed and wilderness landscapes across New Zealand and around the world. We work collaboratively with government agencies, communities and other organisations, fostering multi-disciplinary research to address the complex challenges of managing ecosystems and endangered species. Unique among the universities of New Zealand we offer a postgraduate Master of Science degree in Ecological Restoration, as well as a range of options in Conservation Biology, Ecology and Biodiveristy.
