Priscilla's major influences for continuing on to higher education were her parents, and especially her mother, Lasela.

While studying, Priscilla also enjoyed being part of the Pacific Island Law Students' Society (PILSS) at Victoria University of Wellington, which created a community and sense of belonging on campus for the Pasifika students at Law School.

She was admitted to the Bar in 2004, and worked at the Department of Internal Affairs as a policy analyst in the Local Government and Community Branch, which she found very enjoyable.

In 2008 she joined Pacific Law as junior legal counsel, and is now intermediate legal counsel, in the areas of Treaty and customary rights issues, and finds her work very fulfilling.

She finds that being a Pacific lawyer working in a Pacific law firm (owned by Janet Mason of Fijian descent and also a Victoria University of Wellington Alumni), allows her to bring an important perspective to the legal profession.

Priscilla believes that "there is definitely a need for more Pacific lawyers to join the profession and to bring with them, and share, their background, values and unique perspectives with the rest of the legal profession in New Zealand and elsewhere."
