BIO
Nikita is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law. Previously Nikita was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Law at the New Zealand Centre of International Economic Law (NZCIEL). He teaches mainly international trade law and intellectual property law related courses at the Faculty of Law and professional development courses with the NZCIEL. Nikita is also a director of the multidisciplinary postgraduate programme – Master of International Trade (MIntTr). His primary research focus is examining data barriers in international trade law and the regulation of technology. He is passionate about WTO law and international intellectual property bringing his expertise to the work on projects dedicated to analysis of linkages between intellectual property and services in digital trade.
Nikita serves on the committee of Maunuhanga–Wellington Postdoctoral Society since 2023. He is committed to forging a clearer career path for postdocs at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington. Nikita also supports and contributes to the research work of the NZCIEL.
