The Wellington Public Sector Scholarship will give public servants impacted by restructuring the opportunity to transform their careers with further study at graduate or postgraduate level.
There is a total of $250,000 in the scholarship fund. Each successful applicant will receive tuition fees for up to two courses. There is a wide range of eligible qualifications. The courses must be taken during Trimester 2, 2024, which begins on Monday 8 July, and recipients can study either full or part time.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Nic Smith says the scholarship will provide valuable options for those who have been affected by the changes.
“As Aotearoa New Zealand’s capital city university, we recognise the impact the changes to the public sector are having on our city as a whole and on the people who live here.
“For those who are impacted by the changes and are currently considering their next steps, the scholarship opens up a wide range of meaningful and exciting opportunities.”
