With so many subjects and degree pathways on offer at Victoria, Chapman decided the Tohu Māoritanga Diploma was an ideal first step to discover in which direction he wanted to head.
The Tohu programme provided Chapman with a supportive whānau learning environment where he felt comfortable and at ease, while getting to grips with university life.
Chapman says having completed his first university qualification was awesome, and it gave him a solid transition from school to university and the confidence to further his study.
Chapman graduated a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Te Reo Māori and Criminology.
