Information for people with disabilities, including mobility access and parking facilities, and assisted listening technology.

Mobility

Visitors using wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and other mobility vehicles can easily access most of Te Herenga Waka Marae.

  • There is accessible ramp access to Te Tumu Herenga Waka and Ngā Mokopuna.
  • Lift access is available between all levels of Ngā Mokopuna.
  • Accessibly toilets are available on all levels of Ngā Mokopuna.
  • An accessible shower is available on Level 1 for people who need to be accompanied by a helper.

Mobility parking

Parking is available close to Ngā Mokopuna’s main ground floor entrance. There are two accessible car spaces located directly in front of the accessible ramp on Kelburn Parade. A map showing all accessible parking across the Kelburn campus is coming soon.

Assisted listening

Assisted listening technology is active on the ground floor in the wharekai (dining room, MOKO102) and Aho Ruruku (amphitheatre space, MOKO101).

All of our seminar spaces have also been set up with auditory assistance technology.
