As a living building, the Living Pā aims to achieve net positive energy from its solar panels. The work we are doing from this week will enable the Pā to feed energy back into the University's central electricity grid.

Trenching works are happening at the top of Kelburn Parade from 9 am–4 pm from Wednesday 21 until Friday 23 June. During this period, the road will become one lane, with stop-go workers stationed at three positions around the roundabout to control traffic.

There will also be works on the footpath, but the courtesy crossing on Kelburn Parade will remain active and accessible for pedestrians. In between work periods, there will be plates across the trench to allow two lanes of traffic.

This work is likely to be noisy and cause vibration at times. We understand the timing of these works isn’t ideal from an examinations and assessments perspective, but our contractors are constrained by roadwork restrictions around the Women’s World Cup.

Students that have exams at Kelburn campus on 21 and 22 June have been informed and asked to ensure they allow plenty of time to reach campus.

Thank you for your patience.
