The building superstructure continues to rise, and we look forward to handing over the permanent bus shelter site to GWRC for the next stage of works.

Ngā mahi ki te Pā — Site works

Superstructure efforts continue on the main site with lift shaft and roof structure works in process. Other notable works include:

Main site construction work

Monday 7 – Wednesday 9 August

  • Excavation and concrete works to form pile caps for the next grid of columns.

Monday 14 – Friday 18 August

  • A concrete finish will be applied to the southern retaining wall.

Front of Murphy Annex construction work

Monday 7 – Friday 18 August

  • Low level excavation noise for construction of the waste-water treatment plant (WWTP), with three days of piling 9–11 August.
  • Scaffolding to be erected for installation of the pre-fabricated bus shelter by Metlink.

Arohamai, we apologies for the disturbance caused by construction works.

Ngā mahi e tū mai nei—Future works

Southern end

  • On 23 August, we anticipate a one-lane closure to lift columns for the southern end of the superstructure in place.

Main site work

  • As a living building, the Living Pā aims to achieve net positive energy from its solar panels. We anticipate that one lane of Kelburn Parade will be closed on 28 August for trenching to connect the electrical transformer, enabling the pā to feed energy back into the central grid system.

Ngā whakamahuki—Progress

The plinth for the permanent bus stop is now complete. We will be sending an additional notice to confirm the date of a one-lane closure on Kelburn Parade for installation of the new shelter.
