Front of Murphy Annex construction work
The Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) is an important part of the ‘net zero water’ target for the Living Pā. The new permanent bus stop is a joint initiative with Greater Wellington Regional Council to showcase a commitment to sustainability in the built environment.
Monday 24 – Friday 28 July
- Low level excavation noise at the WWTP, followed by two days of piling
- Construction of the bus shelter foundations will continue through this period with concrete works to establish the base of the shelter.
Arohamai, we apologies for the disturbance caused by construction works.
Ngā whakamahuki—Progress
The piling works for the permanent bus stop are now complete. We expect to hand the site to Metlink so they can begin installation of the shelter soon.
As a living building, the Living Pā aims to achieve net positive energy from their solar panels. The work we plan to do from 21 August, trenching to connect the electrical transformer, will enable the pā to feed energy back into our central grid.
Ngā meka ngāhau—Fun facts
The team supports as many opportunities as possible to share the story of our marae and the Living Pā’s priorities. This month the team have shared kōrero with a visiting MBIE EU delegation, students from Capital Training (a Hutt Valley PTE), students studying INDN 342 – Fabrication Codes / Ngā Waehere Hei Waihanga, and Keystone Trust scholarship recipients (a trust that supports equality in property and construction careers).
