Mā rautakitini ka ora ai ngā tūmanako o te Pā. E mihi ana ki ngā māngai taupuhipuhi mō tō rātou manawanui ki te tautoko i te kaupapa nei.

We are delighted to introduce three new Living Pā Ambassadors. Right Hon. Dame Patsy Reddy and Tricia Walbridge are well known names at the University and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. Their wide social networks will be a great asset in introducing this amazing project to a broad range of people. Christie Wallace replaces Poipoia Te Taonga Poa as our student ambassador.

Rt Hon. Dame Patricia Reddy

Rt Hon. Dame Patricia Reddy, GNZM, QSO has a distinguished record of public service in Aotearoa. She was the 21st governor-general of New Zealand, serving from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that she was a lawyer and business leader whose accomplishments include multiple directorships, heading a major review of intelligence agencies, chairing the New Zealand Film Commission, and negotiating Treaty of Waitangi settlements.

Tricia Walbridge

Tricia is no stranger to the University or fundraising—in 1990 she established the Victoria University Foundation to raise philanthropic donations for the University and was its first Executive Director. Tricia was instrumental in leading fundraising efforts to establish some of the University’s most iconic institutions such as the International Institute of Modern Letters and the Adam Art Gallery. In 2018 the University Council awarded Tricia a Hunter Fellowship for her many years of service.

Christie Wallace

Ngāti Apa (Rangitīkei) and Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi, Christie is in the third year of a conjoint degree in Arts and Law and is on the executive of Ngā Rangahautira, the Māori Law Student’s Society. She will bring a future-focused student perspective to the project.

Dame Patsy, Tricia and Christie join our existing ambassadors Rachel Calcinai, Hon. Chris Finlayson QC, Mereana Hond, Hon. Justice Joe Williams and Te Wehi Wright.
