    Local Contexts is an international organisation, founded in 2010, which grew from the need to address the wide range of intellectual property issues around asserting ownership and cultural authority over Indigenous knowledge, data, and physical material. This is represented by a series of metadata tags indicating Indigenous interests. These can be used by institutions, researchers, and Indigenous groups who want to acknowledge any connections or interests in their work.
