Te Waharoa's new function: Person entities

When searching for information about a person, titles in our collection written by that person, titles in our collection about that person, and links to known associated other persons, you can now type in their name in Te Waharoa's search field and let our predictive text provide you with their records and resources.

Direct access to person information:

Enter keywords (surname, name or initials) and do not click enter. The predictive text functionality will load, providing the person entity links at the bottom of the list. Click the desired person link to view the full person record.

Indirect access to person information:

Enter a title (for example) and allow predictive text to load options, as previously. Select the option you want if it appears, or click to search if it does not. Find desired record from the search results list and click the title link to open to full screen. The Related Persons information can be seen at right of screen.

This new feature is part of the ongoing integration of our systems with Linked Open Data, providing enrichment of results and records using available open source data from reputable sources (Library of Congress Name Authorities; and Wikidata).

Try it for yourself in Te Waharoa.
