Learn about how New Zealand English has changed over the last 100 years and access the raw lexical data gathered by John Macalister.
John Macalister has created an electronic corpus of New Zealand English. This corpus is drawn from newspapers published in the year 2000, selected parliamentary debates from the same year, and from eight years of the School Journal (1909–2000). It provides empirical data for the study of lexical change in written New Zealand English.
