Biography

Anthear is currently a PhD student in Linguistics at the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She received her MA degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research areas include Psycholinguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, and Cognitive Poetics. She is interested in exploring the cognitive mechanisms underlying people’s use and understanding of figurative languages like metaphor and metonymy in both literary and non-literary contexts.
