Kelburn campus is the central hub of the University. It is home to the University’s main services and facilities. Perched on a hill above the city, it has incredible views and a lively student atmosphere.

On Kelburn campus, you will find a mix of old and new—the new, state-of-the-art Biological Sciences building, Te Toki a Rata, is just a short walk away from the University’s oldest building, the Hunter Building, which was built in 1906.

The campus is also home to the University marae or meeting house, Te Herenga Waka, where you can experience Māori culture on campus. There is a bookshop, several cafés and a spacious library with study areas.

Pipitea campus

Pipitea campus is in the heart of Wellington’s government and central business district. You can study at Wellington School of Business and Government or at one of New Zealand’s best law schools just across the road from Parliament, the Wellington High Court, and District Court.

The School is in Rutherford House and includes a new library, a large shared social area, Student Health and Recreation Centre facilities. You can also visit the International Student Advisors in their pop-up office each week.

The Faculty of Law is in Government Buildings. This impressive wooden structure, completed in 1876, is just a short walk to many bustling cafés and shops in the city centre.

Te Aro campus is in the lively Cuba Street district and is home to the University’s Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation. It has specially designed facilities, including collaborative studio spaces, high-tech 3D printers, and New Zealand’s largest robotic arm.

Cuba Street is just around with corner, with its many cafés, restaurants, and boutique shops. It’s a popular destination all week round for locals and visitors looking for food and fun. You can also visit the International Student Advisers in their pop-up office each week.

The Miramar Creative Centre (MCC) is located in Wellington’s filmmaking hub, on the other side of the city. Not a full campus, the MCC is the University’s cutting-edge filmmaking, post-production, and design studio. Students who study here collaborate closely with leading experts from New Zealand’s film, animation, and game design industries.
