Get ready for your Scholarship
Congratulations on your Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship. Here’s what you need to do to get ready for your study in Wellington.
Before you arrive
Here are your first steps to starting at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Find out what else you need to do to get ready to study.
1. Apply for a visa
You need to apply for a student visa as soon as possible. If your University Offer has conditions, you must meet these before you apply for your visa.
2. Return your pre-arrival form
We will email you pre-arrival form pdf232KB to complete. Return this form to us as soon as possible.
3. Organise travel
Once you have your student visa, you need to organise your travel to arrive in time for your Pre-start Programme.
4. Book accommodation
You will need to apply for University accommodation, and organise temporary accommodation for your first few weeks.
When you arrive
When you first arrive in Wellington as a Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship student, your first step is to attend your arrival briefing and Pre-start Programme. These are both compulsory—attendance is a condition of your Scholarship.
You must also attend international orientation. This is your introduction to life at the University and where you will complete your enrolment.
