Support Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Discover ways to support the development of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at New Zealand's capital city university.

With its proximity to government entities, social enterprises, and businesses, Wellington is a thriving hub for startup ventures. It is a place where collaboration and diverse perspectives abound, nurturing those with the drive and enthusiasm to commercialise their good ideas and make an impact. Many of New Zealand’s best known startup brands: XERO, TradeMe, Icebreaker, Allbirds etc. were born here. Sharesies came together as a group of friends studying Bachelor of Commerce degrees at Te Herenga Waka’s Wellington School of Business and Government.

The Wellington region’s economic development agency WellingtonNZ has now set a goal to create 30,000 new tech-related jobs in Wellington by supporting startups at a Hub located at Rutherford House, the home of Wellington School of Business and Government.
