Bachelor of Arts in History
In undergraduate History courses, students learn about New Zealand and world history, pursue independent research, and strengthen critical thinking.
History is an integral part of the Bachelor of Arts degree.
The undergraduate History major requires students to study in seven courses that credit for History, a course of study that includes three 300-level History courses. These upper-level courses are seminar-intensive, and History is one of the few programmes at Victoria University of Wellington that convenes two-hour seminars at 300-level.
There are no required courses to major in History, and many of our students major also in a second Faculty of Humanities and Social Science subject.
