BIO

Claire teaches and conducts research on political theory, the politics of Aotearoa New Zealand and critical pedagogies. Prior to joining the programme, she completed her BA and Honours at Victoria University of Wellington, MSc at the London School of Economics and Political Science and her doctorate at the University of Virginia as a New Zealand Fulbright scholar.

She is the recipient of the Victoria University Early Career Research Excellence Award (2021) and the Mai i te Iho ki te Pae – Special Commendation Award (2021). She has also been awarded the Victoria University Teaching Excellence Award (2022), the British International Studies Association Award for Distinguished Excellence in Teaching (2022) and the Victoria University Early Career Teaching Excellence Award (2018).
