Fumes and dust
Vapours, gas, fumes and dust can put workers and the public at risk when inhaled.
Fumes and dust can reduce visibility, cause distress, headaches and nausea, or trigger asthma or other respiratory conditions. After settling it can also contaminate work spaces and make floor surfaces slippery.
Work that generates fumes or dust cannot be carried out near open windows or ventilation systems without adequate mitigations in place.
