Disrupted access
Before an important access route can be disrupted, you need to consult with your University liaison.
Your University liaison will need to coordinate with multiple departments within the University and external business partners. There should be a communication plan, and appropriate notices and diversion signage will need to be arranged. Alternative routes need to be clearly marked out with detour signs.
Any work that affects vehicle or pedestrian access (including parking and disabled egress) may only be carried out in consultation with Campus Security, Facilities Management, Health and Safety, and Te Amaru—Disability Services.
Disruption of emergency egress and exits
Emergency egress
Always maintain clear emergency egress routes.
Any work that may affect an emergency egress route or exit must be planned in advance and involve extensive consultation.
General egress
Work that will affect non-emergency exits, thoroughfares, or entry and exit points into rooms can only be done in consultation with your University liaison.
