Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology Practice application checklist

When you apply

When you apply through Pūaha, you’ll be asked to provide:

Curriculum vitae (CV)

You will need to provide a written summary of your work experience and qualifications.

Master’s thesis

You will be asked to provide a copy of your Master’s thesis.

Identification and academic transcripts

You will also need to supply a verified copy of your passport or birth certificate and academic transcripts that show you meet the academic entry requirements for the programme. You should do this as soon as possible.

These are standard requirements for applying to the University. Find out how to submit your identification and transcript.

Personal statement

You will need to provide a personal statement of intent (500 words) discussing your interest in the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology Practice. Your personal statement must demonstrate a commitment to biculturalism and knowledge of Māori health and wellbeing worldviews.

Referee’s letters

You will need to provide two letters of reference. Your referees should be people who know you well but are not family members, partners, or friends.  Referees can email their letters to Dr Prasuna Reddy, Professor of Health Psychology at prasuna.reddy@vuw.ac.nz, or to the School of Health.

Personal declaration—criminal convictions

To meet the requirements of the Children’s Act 2014, the University needs to conduct a police check. You’ll need to give us permission to do so. If you have been convicted of any offence you must give details of the offence.

After you apply

Selection interview

If your application meets the requirements of the programme, you will be invited to a selection interview. Your interview should further demonstrate a commitment to biculturalism and knowledge of Māori health and wellbeing worldviews.
