Dessalegn Enkoyee is a fulltime doctoral candidate within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Practice. Dessalegn’s doctoral research examines culturally salient features of family communication and involvement among people with psychosis. His research will further develop and validate a scale measuring culturally meaningful family communication aspects. With this research, he wants to gain a deeper socially embedded understanding of family communication and rate the level of family communication among people with severe mental illness to identify targets of family intervention for people with psychosis.
