Affect and emotion research network
The Affect and Emotion Research Network connects researchers with a shared interest in the study of affect and emotion in social life.
Kia ora!
Nau mai haere mai and welcome to the affect and emotion research network.
Affect and emotion research spans humanities and social sciences, from large scale investigations of public feelings and feeling rules to more fine-grained analysis of affective practices. Members of this network share an interest in critical and decolonising research. We share a focus on inequity, privilege and ideology, and approach questions of affect and emotion with this in mind. Beyond the theoretical, many of us see our scholarly work as part of an active commitment to equity and social transformation in our communities.
We hope to foster connection between our members across disciplinary boundaries, through hosting online kōrero (talk) as well as in-person meet-ups where we can. Please check out our events, and subscribe to our mailing list for email updates.
The network is coordinated by three researchers based in Aotearoa, Australia and Switzerland, and is based at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington.
