Project overview
This project aims to systematically describe what is happening with respect to evaluation culture and practice in our public services and identify how evaluation culture and practice can be improved to better support policy-making. The focus is on both decisions to commission an evaluation (or not) and on the utilisation (or not) of evaluation findings in policy decision-making. The research uses a realist approach and qualitative methods to provide an in-depth understanding of which mechanisms work in which contexts to support valuation success.
