No Man's Land preview
A preview is now available of the epic symphony of musical commemoration of World War 1 being created by Professor John Psathas, from Victoria’s Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music (NZSM).
Over the last year, Professor Psathas and his team have been revisiting battlegrounds and other important World War I sites, bringing together musicians from around the world to record an original piece of music honouring the sacrifice of individuals from many of the nations affected by the Great War.
The project, titled No Man's Land, will have its global debut at the 2016 New Zealand Festival. Together with the film of the global orchestra, Professor Psathas' composition will be seen and heard in tandem with an international group of musicians performing live on stage.
Watch the preview on YouTube (5 min 25s).
Tickets are now available for the New Zealand Festival, Auckland Festival and WOMAD.
