Our doctorates
We award three different types of doctoral degrees—the PhD, five professional doctorates in education, health and music, and Higher Doctorates.
Professional doctorates
Professional doctorates are available for emerging leaders in the education, health, and music sectors. The Health and Education doctorates are restricted to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, and build on a significant period of professional practice. The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) requires you to have substantial performance or composition experience.
