A Bachelor of Arts in Film can lead to a career in film or television, journalism, arts management and administration, teaching, scriptwriting, production, post-production, advertising, media and publicity.

Wellington—officially named a UNESCO City of Film in 2019—is the creative capital and home to key institutions such as the New Zealand Film Commission, Ngā Taonga Sound and Vision Archive, and Weta Workshop.
